Tuesday 25 July 2023

Sky Production Services (SPS) is delighted to share that this year’s RTS Young Technologist of the Year award goes to Tatjana Radivoj, Audio Mix Technician at Sky Post Production.

This prestigious award has now been won two years running by talent from Sky Post, and for the first time ever, all 3 finalists have been from the same company, something that the RTS has never seen before in the history of this award. Huge congratulations to Tatjana, runner up Rebecca Scott (Vision Mixer at SPS) who takes home The Coffey Award, and third place Harry Brown (Sound Supervisor at SPS).

Tatjana joined Sky Post Production during her Tonmeister placement year with the University of Surrey, and once graduated, Tatjana joined the team full time, impressing all with her technical skills.

Tatjana has credits across many recent productions, including:

Landscape Artist of the Year (Storyvault Films)

Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything (Hartswood Films)

Hitmen & Hitmen Reloaded (Tiger Aspect)

David James The One and Only (Sky Sports News)

The Mountain (Sugar Films)

Reflecting on Tatjana's win, John Cochrane, Senior Manager of Finishing at Sky Post Production, said: “There is no doubt that on her current trajectory Tatjana will go on to achieve extraordinary things not only throughout her career, but in the very near future!”

Adam Downey, Sky's Director of Post Production & Partnerships at Sky, added: “In the 18 months that Tatjana has been at Sky, she has progressed meteorically. Tatjana is so deserving of this recognition, we are truly delighted that the RTS jury recognises just how special Tatjana’s talent is. I am also incredibly proud that Sky Production Services have for the first time in the history of this award held every finalist position, which acknowledges the efforts we have put in over years to develop the future talent of our industry”.

Kevin Ramsey, Sky's Director of Studios, said: "There aren’t many weeks that go by without hearing positive feedback on Rebecca and Harry. The speed at which each of them has progressed, operationally and personally, has been incredible. We’re all so proud of them and they should be proud of themselves."

Inga Ruehl, Sky's Executive Director of Production Services & Operations, said: “I am so proud of the three amazing young people that have been recognised by the RTS Young Technologist Award. All three finalists come from within our Production Services departments, reflecting the investment in young people that we are making at Sky Sports and SPS. Like everyone we can struggle to find talent out there, so we shifted to developing our own; and with the sheer breadth of work we offer (sport, news, entertainment, scripted, shortform) we must be one of the most varied workplaces in Broadcasting. We are proud to provide a wide range of opportunities to young people at Sky Sports, including a comprehensive Production Junior programme as well as the Content Academy, and also more specialised opportunities within the crafts; creating this pipeline is important to our business, and it’s the right thing to do. Congratulations Tatjana, Rebecca and Harry.”

Chair of the RTS Young Technologist of the Year Award Jury, Terry Marsh, said: “Tatjana’s rapid rise at Sky since joining the company less than two years ago is hugely inspiring. She has demonstrated an excellent grasp of both the production requirements and the technology involved, whilst also devising improvements to the technology, all of which was very impressive to the Jury. We had a high volume of entries for 2023, which made for some difficult decisions to choose the finalists, all of whom are doing remarkable things in their careers so far.”
