Portrait Artist Of The Year

The Brief:

SPS were approached by StoryVault Films to provide full post-production on Series 7 (x11 45-min episodes) of ‘Portrait Artist Of The Year’. The brief was to reproduce another highly-rated season following Stephen Mangan, Tai Shan Shierenberg, Kathleen Soriano & Kate Bryan on their search for a new star portrait artist.

The Solution:

We built a team of producers and editing talent that were all armed with HP Remote Graphic Software to connect to edit suites at Sky’s campus. Bolstered by dedicated tech support groups, our team navigated new workflows and a tight turnaround time between RX and TX by utilising a combination of various communication channels, running 9 offlines remotely at once and simultaneously working on multiple episodes during the final post.

The longform project was finished in 10 weeks, edited in Avid Media Composer & Symphony, given a Baselight grade and a Pro Tools audio mix, and delivered for transmission on Sky Arts.

PAOTY S7 faced many challenges whilst filming during the pandemic, as it was much harder than usual for SPS to provide all the staff that we needed. However, SPS were able to offer clear guidance & support and worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this series.
